I usually travel in low cost fly companies, so I have a limit for my carry on. I always take my Quechua Forclaz 50L backpack, it's simple and fits every fly company. Here are some tips about packing that I've been colecting allong the way:

  • Make a list: You do not want to leave your toothbrush behind like me. You can use the app to help you making the list.
  • Use packing cubes: You can find on ebay packing cubes. They help me a lot. I usually pack by parts: sweaters in one cube, pants in another. And always take one empty cube to put dirty and wet clothes.
  • Roll your clothes: Very important. They take up less space and will not get creased.
  • Keep the samples received from brands: for example shampoo, shower gel, creams. You can use them on the go, take up less space in your backpack.
  • Keep the small plastic containers: you can fill them and re-use on the go.
  • Items of personal hygiene and electronics on top: You will have to show them passing through security, so it is better to be on top.
  • Heavier and bigger items below: A must for you backpack and for your back.
  • Always weight the backpack: To avoid extra fees I always weight my backpack, leaving some extra space and weight for souvenirs.

Sintra is a village about 30km from Lisbon. I loved the village especially for its rich history and architecture. Here we can find traces of all periods of history: Neolithic, the Bronze Age, the Roman Empire, the Muslim rule, the time of Portuguese discoveries and the Spanish rule. Havana is an eclectic and monumental city very unique. It has many typical monuments of the colonial era, the baroque and neoclassical. When walking through Havana I felt that the city stopped in time because of its architecture and also because of the cars of the 60's. Get ready to listen to Latin music everywhere, it is part of the Cubans.

This is part of the oldest city and for me was the most beautiful. It was classified by UNESCO in 1982 as World Heritage and brings together 144 buildings of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It is an authentic outdoor museum and is very easy to navigate on foot. The streets are narrow and pedestrian and you can visit everything calmly and without traffic. In this area of the city is worth a visit: Havana Cathedral, the Chocolate Museum, the Eça de Queirós House (Portuguese writer who was consul in Cuba), the Old Square, the Capitol, the Obispo Street, the Barcardi Building, the Bodeguita Del Medio bar and the Grand Havanna Theatre.

FOOD AND DRINK
Do not forget to try the mojito, this is where they really know how to prepare. The local food is also very good. Enjoy to eat lobster and seafood because the prices are very into account. It was in Old Havana that tasted the best watermelon juice ever.
